The Women Who Shaped My Journey: Stories of Strength and Resilience

"I have the power to change my story"

As Women History Month approaches, it's a time for reflection - a time to look back on the women who have inspired and shape our journeys along the way.

This is Nicole, one of the interns working with Curvaceous Behavior. In honor of this month, I would like to dedicate this post to someone who made an incredible mark on my journey: my ESL teacher in Elementary School, Ms Grey. She was my first and only ESL teacher I had when I transferred to a new school, and it was under her guidance that I began to navigate the journey of mastering the English language.

Before joining the ESL program, I struggled with both speaking and writing English fluently. Being assigned to the program was also challenging, not only I had to overcome learning a new language but it was also hard to find myself being separated from other classmates with different classes. It feels like my English level defined me. Yet, Ms Grey did more than just teaching English - she made sure I feel included, confident, capable, no matter what my struggles was.

Learning English was tough, first with the grammar and with the pronunciation. I was ready to give up but she kept on pushing me. Sometimes she can be harsh but she wanted me to reach for my potential and I did. Till now, I am very grateful that I had her as my ESL teacher since it was a core part of my life to learn and speak English. Her guidance was more than teaching language - it was about resilience, patience and empathy.

Teachers inspire us in many ways and we don't realize it until later, and for me, Ms Grey was more than just my teacher. She became my role model. She taught me that women can not only be strong and successful leaders but also powerful motivators who can shape and change lives. It is no coincidence that women like Ms Grey - whether they are teachers, leaders or mothers - often make the greatest impact and raising successful generations along the way.

Ms Grey and many other women like her remind us the power women hold in this society. They help us believe in ourselves and push us to become the best version.

To all the women out there - thank you for your strength, your inspiration, and the way you enrich the world around you. Your accomplishments deserved to be celebrated everyday, not just this month.

Think about the incredible women in your life. Take a moment to reflect on their impact. Share this post as a way of appreciation and celebrate the powerful women who had made an impact!

Happy Women History Month!
